What We Do . . .
Scantek IR Services
uses high resolution focal plane array (F.P.A.)
Infrared imagers to thermally detect problems in electrical/mechanical
systems. Electrical problems appear as abnormal heating patterns,
invisible to the naked eye, in vital plant electrical systems. An infrared
program offers a low cost, noninvasive method to check machinery, process
equipment, and electrical gear while under working loads and fully
operational.
What We Can Do For you . . .
Infrared inspections performed by Scantek Infrared, as a significant part
of your maintenance program, will save you from incurring unanticipated
expenses. Downtime, equipment failure, employee injury/risk, product loss,
missed deadlines, loss of reputation, and excess energy usage are all
costs that are minimized by our infrared inspection program.
Each time a problem is located and
effectively repaired, your company saves money, adding to the bottom line.

The sample images above show where
dangerously high thermal conditions occur. Excessive heat
indicates potential catastrophic equipment failure which could mean costly
repairs and downtime. IR Scanning can detect problems not visible to the
naked eye, saving you hundreds or thousands of dollars in unexpected
repairs or lost productivity. |
Not
sure Thermal Imaging is really necessary?
You may think you don’t need
thermal imaging...
...Because you have the
equipment in-house.
Scantek’s
state-of-the-art equipment found a separation of the refractory brick in a
major foundry after the furnace passed the in-house radiometer inspection,
saving the foundry $20,000.
Experienced technicians with the best equipment can save unnecessary
repairs due to false readings.
...Because you have a new
facility.
Scantek saved a $60,000 transformer in a
new baking facility by diagnosing a faulty connection.
Bugs occur in the newest of
facilities.
...Because you have a
fool-proof back-up system.
Scantek diagnosed a faulty switch on the uninterruptible power supply to a
major computer database preventing the loss of priceless client
information. A power failure is
not the time to test your redundant systems at full load.
...Because you have a
superior maintenance staff.
Scantek diagnosed a manufacturing flaw in a 2,000 amp motor control center
which had been installed and maintained to specifications, saving a major
paper board plant a minimum of five hours of downtime.
Many problems are beyond the
control of maintenance personnel.
...Because you never had a
major problem. Scantek helped
avert the total power-loss to a large dairy plant by diagnosing the
approaching failure of a transformer.
Systems age, wear-out, and fail
despite past reliability.
...Believe it’s too
expensive?
Do you have unscheduled downtime
or catastrophic failure in you budget?
